Pagan Daily Devotionals

If you are not already familiar with this from my earlier website, the Pagan Daily Devotionals are a thought for the day. It's not supposed to be instructional necessarily, but something just for fun. Some days are jokes, puzzles, quotes, various spiritual thoughts and things you might be interested to know. Sometimes it's just an idea, and sometimes I suggest a way to use that idea during your day. It's really a mix of lots of Pagan stuff.

Real Alchemy

Real Alchemy by Robert Allen Bartlett
A Primer of Practical Alchemy

  • Written by Robert Allen Bartlett
  • Published by Red Wheel / Weiser
  • Softcover, 178 pages
  • ISBN: 978-0-89254-150-8

As I am learning with this book, true alchemy is not a subject for casual reading. It's a serious and pretty complicated discipline that blends chemistry with esoteric spirituality.

This book provides a very nice introduction to the topic, though I found many sections were too detailed for casual reading. It reminded me of reading a chemistry textbook.

Being Pagan on a Budget

Let's face it, not everyone can afford $300 for a custom-made athame, or a one-of-a-kind silk robe. But having to work within a budget doesn't have to cause problems, and it certainly doesn't mean your a 'bad Pagan'.

Being spiritual itself doesn't cost anything, so it's likely that most financial constraints will come into play when you're getting supplies or tools for your altar. So that's where I'm going to focus my suggestions. Read more

Familiars

wicca and witchcraft articlesI have three cats, and though I would dearly love for one of them to be a spiritual guide or helper for me, it is not to be. They are just plain and regular cats. Wiccan or Witch?

Wiccan

Pagan Symbols

The five-pointed star within a circle is the most common Pagan symbol, and it is typically used to identify oneself as a Pagan or Wiccan. The five points represent the 4 elements plus the spirit, and the circle connects them all. A five-pointed star without the circle is sometimes called a pentagram, rather than a pentacle.
